About Us

Solihull Blinds Ltd was established in 1972 by Noel and Carol Wood. In 1973 their son, Nigel Wood, joined the company and is now the present Managing Director.

It is still very much a family business, employing five family members together with several members of staff. This enables us to give a unique, personal touch to our customers which we know they enjoy due to the amount of former customers who return for more blinds!

We now have the third generation of the family, led by Sales Director Sebastian Wood, ensuring a continuation of our excellent service.

We have been active members of the BBSA (British Blind & Shutter Association) for many years and Nigel has been on the National Management Committee for nearly 20 years. Therefore, our customers have the guarantee that we work within the BBSA code of conduct.

We are fully approved contractors to many local authorities, police, schools and hospitals and have all the relevant insurance and health and safety policies in place.

We will not compromise on the quality of our blinds and only supply the best available with the technology on the market today.

Good value is not a concept that should be judged on price alone. It’s never been our goal to supply the cheapest product possible. Our simple aim is to provide the best quality possible at a reasonable price that allows us to progress & support, satisfy and retain our customers for years to come.

Why use a BBSA member?

Simply, it is your assurance of the highest possible standards of workmanship, service and fair trading.

Before joining the British Blind and Shutter Association (BBSA) prospective members have to undego a strict vetting procedure. Prospective members need to have been trading for a minumum of three years, have a sound financial history, a commitment to training and appropriate health and safety standards and quality systems in place.

Sometimes mistakes happen and membership of the BBSA requires members to handle customer complaints quickly and appropriately in line with the BBSA’s Code of Practice. In the case of an unresolved dispute you can request the BBSA investigates on your behalf. Complaints against members are rare showing both a robust selection procedure and an assurance that there is a strict adherance to the BBSA’s Code of Practice.
